MRP Design Group converted a little used banquet hall to an 18 bed memory care unit, 14 private rooms and 2 double-occupancy rooms for couples. Working with the existing structure provided multiple structural challenges in order to provide barrier free access within the unit.
State of the art security measures, including an emergency notification system and door delays, were integrated into the design. Motion sensors and emergency pulls assure that caregivers are alert and aware of resident’s needs.
This full service memory care center provides a cafeteria, library, hair salon, sitting area and an employee breakroom. A fully equipped kitchen with a homelike appearance was also incorporated into the design not only for convenience but to provide a familiar environment to the residents.
